Well the home coach overheard the original discussion with the scorekeepers. When I called the visiting coach over, the home coach actually volunteered, "Neither of our scorekeepers has been keeping team fouls." That helped. At that point I suggested with go with four apiece. The visiting coach thought about it for a second and suggested five, since we were three mins into the fourth quarter. We all agreed and went from there.
Different coaches or different day and it may have been a very different result.
