You followed the procedure just fine.
There is no warning necessary.
All that is required is that we let the teams know that the time is about to expire at that warning buzzer.
But don't lose sight of your "game management" skills in order to maintain your game in an enjoyable atmosphere.
In some cases of early-season, lower level ball [
with new coaches, young players, subs entering or with general characteristic confusion] an additional notification, reminder and encouragement to the teams may go a long way to get the going to everyone's satisfaction. But if you do that for one team, make sure you are fairly understanding to their opponent if necessary.
