A few years ago I worked a JV boys game. The home team was thrashed by a good 25 points or so. During the game I remember how the home team's point guard really went all out all the time, which contrasted with many of his teammates.
Sat myself alone in the stands to watch the varsity game which followed, and the home JV players were dressed in civilian clothes seated quietly behind the varsity bench. This point guard looked up and saw me sitting a few rows behind him, and immediately walked up to me and sat down. He spent the next half hour asking about some of BB's rules, such as "exactly when does the five-second throw-in count end?" and "what's your definition of legal vs. illegal handchecking?" Nice kid, well dressed, non-critical of me, tough game on the floor, but still interested in the finer points of the game. I'd be willing to bet he's got a college degree by now and is contributing solidly to society. I'll never forget the kid.

Great story J, that's the stuff I'm talking about.
