This was discussed in an earlier thread. You likely won't get a definitive answer because it is a judgement call on the umpires part.
My opinion is that it is a swing and a strike. A player my have been able to keep the bat back but if to do so they have to twist their whole body around then they intended to swing.
Your mileage may vary...
