Welcome to the Board and thanks for that first post. A ball hit off the plate being a Foul ball is one of the common misconceptions of the average fan. Just look at the foul lines and see where they intersect. They come together at the tip of the plate hence the plate is entirely in fair territory (except the black edge which isn't really part of the plate except when it comes to calling strikes).
