I have only worked 18 varsity games? That is news to me. I had 18 just last year. The lowest number of varsity football games I have done in a season was 4 and that was my first season. I have had 9 or more ever since.

But the last time I checked, only Bill was at the Clinic as a speaker that I attended. I do not know who the others are except for Jay. And Bill never said it was OK to overrule a partner. I have seen the man speak several times, but I have never seen him EVER use that language and advocate that practice. So you are right, he does know better than me. That is why I am not listening to a washed up D1 wannabe (which we cannot prove) over a person I see on TV every week of the football season.

You are so right. I should listen to these guys over Allman, Bohn, Buchner, Alstadt or Herrera (clinician in football and basketball), Dobey, or Dacey. Remind me to dismiss their point of view, considering that everyone I just mentioned are very accomplished officials and in some cases Rules Interpreters. I could have mentioned more, but I guess your 3 people are more respected state wide in their respective sports? So much that I have never heard of them. But every sport I work, multi-sport officials know who these guys are. So you can pump up your Ciulla, Orris, Steeves which I know most people out of UMPS has not heard of. But every Basketball Officials knows who Allman, Dacy and Bohn are. Every Football officials that has attended IACAO knows who Buchner and Herrera are. And any football fan that closely pays attention to a football game, knows who Bill LeMonnier is if they live in the Midwest. I guess I should take your word, considering I have never seen you on TV at any game? You mean the baseball games in the playoffs are not on Comcast Cable? You mean the State Final Baseball games are not shown state wide? I cannot think of a year that Football or Basketball was not on TV for the State Finals. When Marcus Liberty was playing and Lephonzo Ellis were competing in Champaign, I could see the officials work those game. Maybe there is a reason no one cares about baseball?

When an official calls a foul (throws a flag) and the LJ, BJ and U disagree, who gets the final say?
Why would 3 officials disagree on a flag? If 3 officials have knowledge about a particular call (in a 5 man crew), you are going to have a lot of problems. Unless you have a PI call where the ball is tipped, I could see the U and the LJ signaling "tipped ball" and the BJ not seeing it. When he throws a flag, not guarantee that it is going to be a PI call. It could be Def. Holding, it could be Offensive Holding. My point is it would be based entirely on what foul is called and what other information can be given. But if the BJ throws a flag, the U and LJ would have to know what the foul is for. Then they would only offer information if something took place that would not make it a foul. But that would still fall on the shoulders of the calling official to decide to pick up the flag. I have done it, I have seen many officials do that. But by no means can someone just tell the Referee without consultation the call was wrong. We are a team and we have to work together.

Peace
