Use velcro, line up a few strips of white/black velcro, on the white/black stripe of the shirt. Then fasten them on the patch accordingly. If your partner doesn't have a patch, then you take yours off, an no one will know there's velcro there. If your partner has a patch, then affix yours on your shirt and you're ready to go. What makes it really good is that you only have to buy 1 set of patches.
