Hi there. I work for a publishing company doing some preliminary research for a book on NFL veterans. Specifically, we are looking for guys who have been in the league for around 10 years but haven't gotten much playing time -- guys who for years have put in a lot of grueling work during the week but don't get the glory or the paychecks of more familiar players. One question I have is: Do these guys even exist or would they not be kept around if aren't useful on Sundays?
Secondly: Are there guys that get roughed up in practises year after year but don't actually dress out or make the official rosters?
I'm not a football expert, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
