In ASA there is no such thing as a "pinch runner." If you replace a player, that is a substitution, whether as a runer or batter or center fielder. And all substitution, including re-entry, rules apply.

NFHS does use the words pinch hitter or pinch runner, but they are noted as substitutes in the definitions.
