That was legal to a point.

When the FLEX ran for the DP, the DP left the game. When the DP came to bat the next time, she used her re-entry rights. When the FLEX ran for the DP the second time, the DP left the game again, and was done for the game.

The next (third) time the DP is due up, the coach has two choices: he can either leave the FLEX player in on offense to bat for the DP, or he can bring in an eligible sub for the DP.

What he can't do is have the player who started at the DP position re-enter yet again. She's done.
