Though the opponent is the emphasis, the officiating crew was often considered as part of the puzzle as far back as my High School in 1964.
Which officials:
  • Let you attack the ball
  • Let you attack the basket
  • Call unseen hacks
  • Are fixated on post play
  • Watch the shooter back to the floor
  • Award verticality

    I find it very hard to believe that a coach does not know the officials for the upcoming game.
