Unless the batter-runner threw a forearm or something along those lines, sounds like the right call to me. F3 has an obligation to make sure that he is not obstructing any runner, especially when he is not part of the play - since there was no play attempted at 1B, he's gota get outa the way. It also sounds like your runner may have been looking for a "cheap" award of 2B
