Do you have a reference for this?

I ask because this is how I used to enforce the rule, until someone locally pointed out that the rule says something like, "A TO can be shortened on the request of the coach or captain."

According to this individual, just ahving the team come out of the huddle early isn't reason to shorten the TO.

Thoughts?
Great point. I think most folks infer the coach/captain wants to shorten the TO when they break the huddle and come back on the floor. I know I do.
