You, as R, decide who makes the call?

Last night I noticed the Lead official point to his partner to take it and at first I thought he was pointing at a player to identify the player who had fouled. I didn't like the way it looked and started wondering if there is a better way I can communicate w/ my partner in this sitch.

What communication signals do you others use for this?

Thanks,

Simple. "You got it" with or without a point, depending on noise level. Or "I got it" if it's mine.
