Had freshman girls, one team quite a bit better than the other, but not pulling ahead as much as they would have liked. Last 45 seconds of the game, B1 gets fouled on the shot. Goes to the line. Air-balled the first one. A1 on the lane says, quietly, "Too bad you can't shoot!" B2, next to A1, looks over and says, loudly, "Oh, my gosh, that is just so rude!" I almost laughed! Boys in a similar situation might have had to be thrown out, but from girls, we just get an understatement.

(I went over to A1 and said, "I have an appointment in 20 minutes, so I don't have any spare time. But you're only getting out of a T because your team is 10 points ahead, and I'm feeling generous. Don't ever say anything like that again!" I knew the coach would deal with it, and she did.)
