This is why we need bean bags at spots of fumbles. If the flag is behind the bean bag, go from the flag, the spot of the foul. If the bean bag is behind the flag, go from the bean bag, the end of the related run. Without knowing where the foul and the fumble occurred, it’s impossible to know what the best enforcement option is. But what you did is one available option.
