You made the right call. I've had that play several times. Sending R1 home often does provoke an argument, though. Many softball players assume the rule is the same as baseball's. In OBR, because F6's throw was the first play by an infielder and the BR had not yet reached 1B, the bases are awarded from the time of the pitch. Therefore, R1 (who started on 1B) would be awarded 3B, not home.

Softball does not recognize the "first play by an infielder" situation.
