Now this question made me pause and think about what I've done under various scenarios: 1) I have left the ball at the throw in spot [endline or sideline] when beckoned to conference with partner whe was convening with a coach--upon return it was right where I left it and often a fan will shout "we guarded you ball blue"; 2) I have seen a partner bring the ball with when summoned by me to a specific area; 3) we both meet around center court because it is a good area with less noise or distraction; 4) never have I had or observed a conference to occur at the throw in spot.
