I am going do disagree a little bit on this one. I have no issues with the C getting this play. For one they might see the entire thing better than the L. And since the L got this wrong IMO, the C has an opportunity with a play on his side to make this call. Double whistle is certainly understandable, but saying the L is the only one can call this is also why I feel this was wrong. I would have no problem with a good official that is C making this call if I am the lead. We just might make eye contact first, but this is why I am not a fan of the L having this basically on the other side of the lane. They get surprised too often.

And this looks like a HS game. So that might apply more in a college setting, but even in a college setting we talk about these plays and often we want the C to still officiate this play. But the L is the only one to come out strong, but the C can and might be the best person to call this.
