Here's one for you. I watched a dual meet (NOT a tournament) last night, and I noticed that the official flipped the disk before the 2nd period of EVERY match, to determine choice of top / bottom / neutral / defer.
The rules are very clear in that the disk is to be used (once) to determine choice, prior to the first match. The winner, based on red or green, selects odd or even matches, with the first match (selected by random draw) being odd, the second even, and so on.
Funny thing is, nobody seemed to notice (or at least nobody called the ref on it). Anybody know of any unwritten rule that "allows" this?
