Just seeing this video for the first time, and I had to watch it without sound because I'm at work, but the only cards I saw being pulled were the red and yellow at the same time when the coach left the rulebook on the stand.

Did I miss seeing R1 pull the yellow separately and then the red separately?

I agree with those that said sitting on the floor would have earned the next step up from me. Had she already been given a red, then of course the sitting on the floor would get an ejection from me.

Good for the school for releasing this coach after the game, she needs to take some time off and think about her actions. Any chance the state suspends her for a certain amount of time? I'm not saying she doesn't deserve a second chance.. everybody deserves a second chance, but if she is coaching somewhere next season, IMO that is an injustice.

I'll have to go back and watch the video with sound on when I get home, because watching the video with no volume was just terrible, it was hard to figure out what was going on.

If you rely on the announcers, you won't have a much easier time figuring out what's going on either. :D

It would be interesting to know what she was "protesting," since the question of the substitution wasn't on the previous play, and thus, would no longer have been a protestable/reviewable situation anyway.

R2 messed this one up. That is probably why R1 gave the coach some leeway when acting like an ass. I have had this happen many times with R2's and usually just let it go until between games or time outs and will inform them of their mistake. The volleyball in our area of the State is not very competitive and I have never had an opposing coach complain, either because they didn't know the rule or just didn't care. Also, if the dialog requires the captain going back and forth to the coach, i would rather have the coach come to the stand and talk to me.
