obtaining qualified line judges for high school events is a matter of concern for most (all) volleyball officials. We hope to correct this problem in Michigan by visiting school physical education classes to present an instructional session on line judging for volleyball. Use of a video and hands on practice will be employed. Unless pre-season effort is made, we are stuck with old methods - and youse all know what they are. Good luck !

There are always exceptions, but for the most part we've had pretty good luck getting decent line judges. For varsity matches, the home school usually provides adults that do it on a regular basis. Sub-varsity levels can get a little trickier sometimes, buy it rarely has been a real problem.
I like your idea though - every little bit helps, and having a pool of kids that are at least familiar with the concept couldn't hurt. |

Great Idea!
Offer them some type of incentive (like free passes to basketball games) for doing the line judging and I bet you get some takers quickly! The idea is really good and has merit. Let us know how it works out.
