starting players

NFHS Rules Coach submits starting players to score keeper and R2. After players take their positions on the court R2 checks the lineup. #3 is on the floor and the lineup card says it should be #11. What is the correct procedure to handle this situation.

If #11 is on the roster: The coach must put #11 on the floor. The coach can then sub #3 for #11. #11 and #3 are "locked in" to that serving order position.

If the team does NOT have a #11: Record #3 as a sub (so-called "phantom sub").

Both of the subs above count as one of the allowable 18 (or 15 in NCAA rules).
