You cannot do this. It's turned off, by default. A thread starting post cannot be deleted.

If we turned this feature on, you could start a thread, have many replies, and then delete the whole thing.

If you wish to have a mistaken post/thread deleted, you can always send me a PM.

I was told by another administrator that we could delete a thread you start started. Now it is confirmed that this feature was turned off. I do not think it is a good idea when there are also threads that are started like I did the other day mistakenly to see if I could embed a video properly. I should have been able to delete that post, instead it stayed up for some time and people viewed the topic that had no video or comments on them.

Sometimes we just hit the button too quick or accidentally. I have done that a few times over the years and want to take it back.

Peace

The problem is this...you post and 40 people reply and you don't like how the thread goes, so you delete your post. All replies are deleted then, as well. That's not fair to those who took the time to reply.

I do not look at that as a problem but I get it. I just think somehow we should be able to correct a simple mistake. Maybe you are aware more than I am, but I do not see a lot of people doing what you suggest or what you are referencing. And the person in question can still delete the remaining information on the OP as they do on another site. Why not just give us the right to dump the entire thread?

Peace
