Question

Softball Canada -- Bantam Boys (16U) Provincial Championships

I was at another diamond when this happend so it is secondhand. Early innings (either bottom of first/top of second) close play at the plate - runner called out. Coach protests that bases are the wrong distance and runner should be declared safe. Bases were measured and found to be 65'.

Can you guess the ruling of the protest committee?

Well, the ruling should have been that the out stands. However, I suspect they did something else.

Move the bases and re-start the game?

Almost perfect mick... while they were at it, they moved the pitchers plate (it was 5 feet too far as well) and restarted the game

It's nice to know there are stupid people up north, as well as down here.

Looks like you and I "guessed an out".
At least they didn't give the coach his "safe". What was he doing, sandbagging until his team got caught?
