Orange County Batbusters are the ASA 18-Gold national champs...but some great games by the Shamrocks, Firecrackers and Gorden Panthers made the tourney very exciting those final two days.

Weather in Oregon cooperated once we got through the first day of Pool Play. Nice working games during August when the temp is around 70's in the afternoon.

Some great kids, coaches and fans.

Congratulations on the assignment! There has been alot of discussion about uniforms at the 18UA nationals. Was the uniform attire similar at the 18U Gold Nat.?

Billy P was the UIC and he gave the crews some options...

All crews within the complex with the same game times had to wear the same uniform. If the crew had a game at an outlying site, they could decide the uniform.

Morning & evening games were:
Shirts - Navy blue with navy t-shirt
Pants - Heather gray
Blue ASA ball bag

Afternoon games were:
Shirts - Powder blue with white t-shirt
Pants - Heather gray
Blue ASA ball bag

On the final day, crews had their option with most umpire crews using the Navy blue shirt with navy t-shirt. Again, times with multiple games had to have the same uniform.

Our 3rd Place game crew secured permission (only game @ 12:30 pm) to wear the following:
Shirts - Powder blue with navy t-shirt (Billy's favorite)
Pants - NAVY BLUE
Blue ASA ball bag

And, I think that color scheme was very well received by the players, coaches, fans and fellow umpires....it looked very sharp.

LT,

Congrats on the assignment. Some of the best ball in the country I'm sure. I'm going to the Mens B Fast pitch. Our Uniform is the Powder Blue with Grey pants, navy ball bag. Not sure if I like that one. I prefer the Navy with grey.
Did the Powder with Navy T-shirt look really look that good??? I wouldn't think so, but never tried it.

Navy t-shirt looked VERY GOOD with powder blue shirt...got some nice comments from players & coaches.

Quality of play was outstanding. Defensive plays were unbelievable, but the distance those girls can hit that softball...you have to see it to appreciate it.

Unhappy

Why can't we just wear a U N I F O R M ? ?

It's SOFTBALL, not a fashion show.

Also, see 10-1-c-7
