Play:
Runner A on 2nd, batter B hits ball towards shortstop.
Shortstop charges ball and collides with runner A. Umpire ruled no interference because batter B is very fast and would not have been thrown out.

Does that sound right??

No, from your description of the play INT should of been called the runner A is out a DEAD BALL is called and BR is put on 1st base
