It may sound moronic, but it works. There are many things that sound dumb the first time you hear it until you try it and see it is not too bad. I've found that the shorts with the pocket let the cup shift too much. I went to a separate underarmour jock underneath a pair of tights.

Cut the cup pocket off an old jock with torn straps before you trash the leftover waistband and straps. Wash the pocket and use the cup in pocket combo as directed. Measure the advantages yourself, such as cleaner, more comfortable, used more often, time, money, etc.
