According to the announcers, who said they went on the field and measured it, the pitchers circle is 8 foot RADIUS and Cat Osterman was leaping to the edge of the circle, effectively pitching from 35 feet away.

Glad they straightened that out. On day one, they made the same notation, but said it was an 8 foot DIAMETER.

If you notice, those who do not leave the "H" often end up near the circle.
