2012 ASA Rule Book

Well, I'm disappointed. Even with what I thought was an overwhelming preference demonstrated this year, we still have the manual included in an "umpire" edition and there is still a team edition.

They left the "blocking a base" phrase in the obstruction RS which causes more confusion then helps and I'm not impressed with one-umpire mechanics anytime there is not a runner on 3B.

Hopefully, the rest will be better than the first five minutes of review

Yeah, I got my direct shipment of "Team Rule Hanbook" (no, not my typo, that is the shipping label from the printer!!) over the weekend, and they state "Participant Manual" on the cover. And despite being thinner than ever before, they have raised the supposed retail price to $15 from last year's $9.95, although we aren't to sell trhe rulebook, just a team registration which includes a rulebook.

So, I surmised a separate umpire edition. (Yeah, I get direct ship of 300 team rulebooks to distribute to leagues I register, but our State UIC won't let them direct ship the 80-100 umpire rulebooks I need, I have to get them from him. Not sure I get the rationale there, but, oh well.)

That is somewhat ironic, as I had 65 new NCAA Rulebooks direct shipped to me, and their shipping label says "Softball Rules Book". Doesn't anyone know what they are, or use correct grammar/spelling/English?

Technically, a "rules book" is what it is, as it contains more than one rule.
