There have been reports in my area that bats are appearing with a recertification "sticker". I asked Kelly McKeown who is responsible for ASA's bat certification program about their existence. I posted Kelly's answer below.
********************************* Hi Mike, Stickers are not allowed. I know Easton used a clear looking sticker/tape that was placed over the permanent ASA recertification mark, but if one were to pull of that piece of tape, the mark is still permanent. This clear tape was used to keep the integrity of the ASA recertification mark stays in place. Good luck, Kelly McKeown

This was probably a smart idea to keep the recertification from fading off the bat after a while BUT it would of helped if they would of got the word out because just looking at it it looks like a sticker that has been put on the bat and I know we have had some situations with it at our park. I will now pass the word
Thanks Don |
