High School Federation Slow Pitch game.
A ball bounces deep in the outfield, ball hits outfielder's glove, which sent the ball over fence. Is it a groundrule double or do you add a additional base. Thanks Jeff |

Without reviewing slow pitch differences, add an extra base for what reason?

Actually, unless there is something unorthodox involving the fence or it's distance from the plate (if prescribed to be deeper by rule), this isn't really a "ground rule" anything. It would simply be a two-base award from the TOP. Of course, that would be regular softball, Fed may vary.

Without looking up the FED rule, would venture to
state that Mike is correct. Have not seen him miss too many, if any. glen

About the only differences in FED slow and fast pitch is the pitching. Dead ball after each pitch, ball or strike that hits the ground. Intentional bases on balls is awarded, ball becomes dead.
Base awards are the same. The only 3-base award, as in fast pitch and baseball, is contacting batted ball with detached equipment or illegal glove/mitt. Bob |
