Post

Two weekends ago during a HS tournament I was invited to call in, I got to
meet someone most of you know or have heard of. Walter Sparks. His grand-
daughter pitches for San Antonio Marshall HS, which I was at the time totally
unaware of. I was PU and really having a great game. Seems as though nothing
was going wrong. Had obstruction, interference, and batter hit on the
foot while still in batter's box. I had never seen Mr. Sparks. When I
departed the field, this elderly man stopped me and told me he thought I
had a great game and excellent mechanics. [no one has ever accused me of
that before]. Later in the day I had the Marshall team again and again
was behind the plate. Another good game and more good words from Mr. Sparks.

Had to share that, it made me feel good. He said he thought I missed an
interference call during one of my field games but did say it was kinda iffy.
[Since I did not think it was, therefore no call]

Just had to share this info with you gals/guys, since he is big in TASO softball.

BTW, she is a pretty good pitcher.

Glen,
That's great news. Just goes to show that you never know who just might be watching.

Cool CONGRATS PAPA

Sounds like you were in a good groove that day. I dunno about you but I would rather find out after a game when a big shot is watching then before.. Any way some day maybe will get to call together I have heard a few good stories I will relay about Walter. Walter does our Metro and Taso meeting here in Dallas and they were doing a lot of talking about his daughter. They said she was a pretty good pitcher

Have a good one

Don
