Umpire footwear

Just an FYI type message. I just wanted you guys to know that I've found the perfect shoes for SP umpires or working the bases for FP. You may have seen a lot of players wear them. They're comfortable, durable and they breath very well. They're made by Boombah. There are a couple of different styles that you can get in all black. I wore a pair all of last season and they're still in very good shape. I bought another pair for nats and those will be used as my local tournament shoes while my last season pair will be used for league games. Oh BTW, they clean up very easily with a damp rag. Here's a link to the pair I wore for nats... Boombah Resistance Trail Shoe

How well and/or easily do they clean up? I'm used to polishing my shoes a lot, and these don't quite look like the kind you would normally polish.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

No need for polish. I wiped them with a damp rag between games and if I had a game off, a little Armor All would make them look brand new.

I have also heard good things about this shoe. Alot of guys in my association are going to them. Price isn't bad either.

Hmmm... I might consider them. How do they stack up compared to, say, the NB 350s?

And by the way... Welcome to the forum, hercload!

Thanks Ump,
I have the NB 350's and like them. A regular partner bought the Boombah's and said he likes them more than the 350's. Said they are lighter and not nearly as hot in the summer.

I wore out 2 pair of 350's 2 years ago and I was looking for a more reliable pair of shoes when I found the Boombah's. Like I said, you'll see a lot of players wear them and I asked a bunch of them how they liked the shoe. All I got was positive feedback. The first pair I bought last season will be used again this season because they have held up. On the field, I'm moving as much as any player so I need a shoe that will hold up and I've found them.
