I agree, Mike. The question came down to properly worn equipment. Which is also why NCAA specifically states that sunglasses are considered properly worn both over the eyes and on the brim of the hat (for those intermittent cloudy days).

Just for discussion, let's go a step further. College players have been known to shed their helmets when running and some are very adept to making it look accidental.

Of all the things a player could discard or lose on the field that could affect the path of a thrown ball, its going to be the helmet.
