Thanks Joel,
I hope that it has lost a lot of its punch if it should get to your area. So far we have not had any rain in a while. We need some, but not like what is expected. I guess calling ball is plum outa question? grin....... but you could watch the play if things get too bad.... Be careful out there.... glen

I would have gladly sent it ALL y'alls way.........
A few problems with minor flooding and some wind damage.......but overall very minor........ Some areas got 10-20 inches......... I also managed to stay out of the worst of it........ Some major roads closed due to tides....... And to Bob.......I have an Aunt and Uncle that live in Desert Palm Springs........anywhere near you? Joel |

Joel, Here in my area, just north of Beaumont, we got the all day dizzles and gusty winds. Doing the same today. However, the winds are calm. Just the type of rain needed. Cancelled the benefit tournament I was suppose to call in. No harm, it was a freebie since my wife was hosting. She's chairperson of the group that was having the tournament. glen

Ahhhhh...the rains came in late yesterday and have been supplying much needed moisture for the last 24 hours or so. Nothing like what the Gulf coast got...but welcomed none the less.

Scott,
We finally got the rain early this am. Very welcome relief. Did you know that we called HS ball last season without the benefit of the TASO insurance? Seems that previous leadership never got the money to the insurance company - and the money somehow disappeared. The NEW TASO leadership says that won't happen this year - but they still raised our membership fees!! Gary |

Gary:
I had just heard this at a tournament I was working this past weekend. I haven't had the chance to verify it with anyone else, but obviously as you are hearing the same thing, then it must be true. My question is, what happened to the funds from all over the state, and what would have happened if someone had been injured in the course of a TASO sponsored event? (Seems there would have been some major litigation.) As for the increase in dues...I really don't mind it if we actually get what we pay for. If, however, the new leadership is much like the old leadership, then I will get the feeling that I am being fleeced. Scott |
