Cool

Just a thought provoker here.........

R1 on 2nd..........2 man mechanics.........less than 2 outs........or maybe 2 outs........it can matter......

BR bunts ball just up the first base line........

R1 stealing on the pitch.......

What bad things can happen to the umpiring crew..........??

Joel

The biggest thing I can imagine is that R1 cuts the corner at 3rd and neither umpire sees it, because the PU is focused on the fair/foul call, and the BU is watching the play at 1st.

That's one, I'll leave the others for other folks.

Here is two that I can think of:

- BU crashes into or impedes R1 from second as he is coming inside to get close to a possible play at first.

- Bunt is fielded quickly and fired to third for a play on R1. Neither umpire would be a great position to see that play.

Cool How about

The throw goes to 3rd trying to get R1 out PU forgets BU has the call at 3rd and makes a BIG overhand OUT call while BU is gaving the SAFE sell call

Just a thought

Oooops.......

Oooops..........

Started a thread and forgot about it..........

Sam C nailed what I was looking for............

Runner from 2nd can make a clean miss (cut the corner BIG TIME) of 3rd and neither umpire see it...........

As a matter of fact........there are some coaches that teach this tactic...........

A quick glance on R2 may get you out of this situation......but this is the one play (IMHO) that can easily be missed in the two umpire system........
