I was watching the LL Southeastern game involving Bridgewater, VA.

I notice the PU was very demonstrative in his signals, but what got my attention was that his set position usually put his eye level above the brim of the batter's helmet.

I'm sure this guy is a good umpire or he wouldn't be there, but it would seem from that position, he would be guessing most of the calls on the lower pitches.

Any thoughts?

Didn't see the game, but from your description I would have to agree. It would be the same as FP.
IMOHO You can't call a good zone being that high.
