If a batter hits a line drive ball that is foul down the first base side but the first baseman makes a play on the ball while in fair territory it hits his glove but he doesn't catch it the ball still goes fowl but is it a live ball since he touched it in fair territory?

The location of the fielder has nothing at all to do with it. The ball is judged fair or foul by its location when it is touched, not by where the fielder was standing when he touched it. Therefore, if the ball is over foul territory when touched by a fielder, and is not caught and held for an out, it is simply a foul ball. In ASA and all other associations that I am affiliated with, this is a dead ball.

"...since he touched it in fair territory."???? He was standing in fair territory but the TOUCH was in foul territory so it is a foul ball and because of the touch in foul territory it can not ever come back in and be a fair ball.
