2 outs bases loaded 2 strikes. Catcher drop ball picks it up and throws to first. First muffed it safe. In the process of throw the ball catcher steps on home plate with ball. The coach wanted an out on a force. I said no because the catcher's intent, in my judgment, was to make the play at first. I am pretty sure I am correct in the ruling just not sure I explained it well to the coach. I moved and lost my book. Please provide me the reference.

Should have called the out. Don't confuse this with an accidental appeal.

You see that is what I based it on, and I am thinking I heard it from the So Cal big guy. Thanks for the correction.
