I just got word of two significant changes the PIAA has made for the 2003 season. First, we're doing away with the requirement that coaches must wear the same uniform as their team - PIAA will match Fed's requirement. It's about time for this one.
The other change is that Pa will be an "experimental" state and use the ASA DP/DEFO position rather than Fed's DH. For myself, I prefer ASA's role rather than the DH - it's a much more potent position. I see this change as somewhat of a nightmare, though. It's tough enough getting these coaches to understand what they can & can't do with the DH, now we're giving them a world of flexability with the DP/DEFO. Looks like I'll have a bit of extra prep to do next year for the coach's rules interp meeting. Steve M |

I agree with you Steve. Now that I understand the rule.
Thanks to you and your poop sheet. Dakota's helped also. It [DP/DEFO Rule] does allow more flexibility. The way I understand it, Texas is going to do same experiment with it. glen
