Suppose you are the coach of the second place team. You work hard to maintain your 3rd year of being number 1 and you loose to the first place team by one game. After all stars are picked you find out that the 1st place team had 2 players (which came into the season 1/2 way through) lived across the state line but goes to school in your area, were playing on another Dixie Softball league in their state. The coach of this team knowingly played the 2 girls and no one knew about them playing on another league because their games were 30 miles away and who would have known. What would you think or do? The 2 girls are not eligible for our all stars because they did not play a total of 9 games. But they are playing on the all star team of their original league that they were and continued to play on.

seastar,
Dixie Softball Regulations: III. C. A player's name shall appear on no more than one (1) season team roster in Dixie Softball play. However, there is no clear punishment for violating this regulation. First, I would contact the district director, then the state director if not satisfied with the results. V and VI. Deal with Boundaries and Player Selection. There is a penalty for violating portions of these regulations. I would hate for the girls to be punished, the coach should be reprimanded for his actions. If you don't know your district director, go to http://www.dixie.org to look the director up. |
