18Gold-It is about time

After working an 18Gold Socal Qualifier with 98 teams last year I was very pleased to see that Socal ASA will now only qualify 50 teams with Gold status

Do you know what criteria they are using to qualify the teams by?

Becase I can think of 1 or 2, or 50 teams around here that need reclassification to something other than 18 Gold.

Every area has many poser 18G teams but the problem was So cal has more poser than most of the country put together. Even worse, many are essentially 16U's playing up.

Of course the parents and coaches of the poser teams are crying to high heaven.

I will be working the Jan 18 18G Classification Tournament as one of the outside umpires slots made available today at the Region 14 Meeting.

Maybe I'll see you there, I cant wait. I wish there was a way to keep in practice between now and then! Jeez.

I also tentatively but strongly got the 18U USA/ASA National Tourney in Las Vegas this year. I think I'll be at the Champions Cup as well!

Christmas came early today! woot!
