Thought I'd bring y'all up to date. I worked "part" of a conference championship this weekend - we got Saturday in but were rained out Sunday and I was unable to take Monday off from work (so were 2 of the rest of our crew of 4). I worked three of the four games Saturday and my plate game got into the 7th with no runners for one team - and then they got a hit followed by a throwing error for the next batter. The conference had a different championship rule than I have seen before - since Sunday was rained out, they came back Monday with the provision that if Monday were rained out the tournament would be thrown out and they'd go with the regular season order of finish. In the past, if we made it through Saturday, we had an undefeated team that would be declared the winner if we were not able to complete things on Sunday. We worked a 3-man - my first time since last July - and it really felt kinda strange working at 3B for a few innings. About the only unusual play was an interference call on a batter-runner for a running lane violation. And one team - they did eventually win it - hit more fouls than I think I've ever seen in a single game. Saturday's final game went 10 innings before ending 1-0. The rains started as we were leaving the locker room to head back to the hotel - next to the hotel was an all you could eat steak buffet.

Ugghhh is right Joel! 92 was the high here yesterday, and it was so humid that I needed scuba diving gear on the field. Fortunately for us, storms started moving in last night during the second game of the evening and we got a reprieve!

Well, well, well. 93 here today, and I was putting on a
metal roof. Did not last past 1 o'clock. Here shortly I
have to go do two Bratter ball games. Scheduled umpire
backed out.

Did get a call for another playoff game on Friday. Couple
of pretty fair 3A teams. One local.....or at least in the
general area I call out of.

Where is my steak????

Sorry you got rained out....kinda wish we had some right now.
{rain that is}...
