Speaking of ITB..

When I mentioned "ITB" at my latest ASA tournament, the Commisioner of SoCal ASA corrected me that "there is no such thing". It's TB in the rule book. So out of curiosity, when did the "International Tie Breaker" become "Tie Breaker"?

Probably when ASA separated themselves from ISF. The ASA tie-breaker is based upon the ITB.

It is interesting that the rule's correct name is the Tie-Breaker Rule in ASA. Yet, around here it is generally referred to as merely the International Rule!

Have heard this same scenario as "how do you get 3 outs on 1 batted ball and no one on defenses touches ball?"..of course there isn't a pitch limit!

Guess if this isn't the right answer you have another umpire riddle![/QUOTE]

Funny you should post this. . . .I was listening to ESPN the other day about the "greatest triple play" (BASEBALL) that whoever was being interviewed remembered. . .

He said the greatest triple play was in a Minor League A game where the ball was never caught and was never fielded defensively. . . .

R1 on 2b
R2 on 1b

BOTH Runners are stealing. . . .There is a towering popup and IFF called on the batter, R1 is on his way back to 2B but is is passed by R2. . . on his way back to 2B and after being overpassed, R1 interferes with the ball.. . .TRIPLE PLAY. . .ball never touches a glove or fielder
