That's almost right, Mike. I grew up in Atlanta before there was I-285, but I live outside I-285 now for better schools and lower housing costs. I am about 15 miles N/Ne
of I-285 and have been for 23 years.
Roger, I'm really glad you-uns got some schooling. Did you attend w/Jethro Bodine? LOL

Roger Greene Mon Mar 04, 2002 05:43pm

Jethro was from West Virginia, beleive.

We did have a problem in the early 70s with an individual called "The Ramseur Rock Thrower" who chunked rocks through highway patrol and Ramseur Police car windshields, and even rocking officers while they were working. He was never caught, although one officer did reportatedly hit him with a load of bird shot one night. He might have been related to Ernest T. Bass from Mayberry.

OK, Roger and Elaine, I'm ashamed of you both!

In defense of true Southern Culture (Hollywood version), I must point out that Jethro was from the Ozarks near the Missouri / Arskasas line. (Granny was from Tennessee).

Gomer Pyle, though, was from North Carolina.

OK... time to redeem yourselves:

What state were the Dukes of Hazard from?

Why is this on an umpire board?

Roger Greene Mon Mar 04, 2002 06:12pm

Ozarks, Thats makes sense.

I believe Daisy Duke waited tables in Hazzard, Mississipi.

Andy Griffin was born and raised in Mt. Airy, N.C. and Aunt Bea (Francis Bavier {sp}) Lived in Siler City, NC. till she passaw away 5 or 6 years ago. I'm not sure sbout Gomer though.
