ASA 10U No More One Base

Do I understand correctly that 10U B are no longer limited to taking only one base on an overthrow, and no longer have to stay at 3B if the ball goes past the catcher?

If your league or tournaments play by Championship rules, there are no 10B rules. All 10U teams play with all the same rules as all other J.O. ages; the only differences are they pitch from 35' with an 11" ball. There are no running restrictions, the uncaught third strike rule applies, and yes (as before) there is an infield fly rule.

If your league or tournaments adopt local rules, use them.

ASA removed all of the special base running rules for 10UB this year. Of course, many local leagues, etc., will choose to add them back in to the local rules. You should check your local rules to be sure.

Our local league (ASA) is going to continue to use the 10U-B rules as they were in 2007 ... thats what the coaches wanted so thats what they got

as an umpire - makes no difference to me ...

Our local league, which feeds a travel team, kept the one base on an over throw. All the other 10U rules are gone. Their reasoning was they didnt want a home run off a D3K, but they want the girls trained up on some level for the travel season. I thought it was a fair rec league compromise.
