The Running Lane
Video of an out call at first for violating the running lane and the mess that follows
Umpires leave the field If this was your game, what would you have done? Warning**** There is some profane language. |
I would have given another beer to the idiot in the white pajama shorts.
|
Without getting in to the call itself. I would be telling #23 and #7 their night is over as far as this game is concerned. Terrible job by the blue in handling the aftermath. I've seen bar brawls better officiated.

As for me, I don't own a red shirt. And I would have run more than two of these guys...but I would have run them long before these two red-shirted idiots did anything. |
another good example to avoid "adult" SP

But the arguments seemed to be based on the area where F1 fielded the ball and threw it. Is it possible he called a foul ball or INT on the BR? If you turn up your speakers you can hear the umpire say he called dead ball right away when one of the players (who apparently was studying the dictionary that day) started screaming "you have to call that instantaneous". However, what do you want these guys to do? They forfeited the game. And with common SP mentality, only when they heard the umpire say the game is over did they resolve themselves to finishing the game. Why is it these idiots think it is okay to act like a$$holes and then once they realize they've gone to far, all of a sudden they don't understand why the umpires are leaving? And though more prevelant in SP, there are a fair amount of FP adults (including youth coaches) who act in the same manner. |

FP adults are the same or worse.. Probably worse on average. Many Beer leaguers are just playing for fun.. the FP players are reliving their "man I woulda made the MLB if it wasnt for the ole knee" every moment. |

(1) I hope I would have called the BR out for being out of the lane and interferring with F3 receiving the catch. (In slow-mo, for several strides, the BR's right foot seemed to be on the foul line and the left foot in fair territory.) (2) I would have "forced" the arguing team to only have their coach discuss the play with me. At one point the PU seemed to be discussing it with seven players at once. ~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ The link supplied had references to videos for Part-2 and Part-3 of the same incident. A few items I found interesting were: (A) Players apparently walking away from umpires as they are getting in their trucks, shouting back for them (umpires) to just shut-up and drive home. (Why were the umpires still yelling at players walking away? I like players walking away.) (B) Players commenting that the umpires never ejected anyone, they just walked off the field. And my favorite .... (c) Coach noting, after the umpires had left, "I protest that call. He never called 'Dead ball'. He never called 'Dead ball'. He called 'Time out'." :D |
