Oh no! The last time SRW restricted someone to the dugout, the team's assistant coach got run because he made inappropriate remarks about biologically impossible actions concerning SRW...in front of a bunch of high school girls who, I am sure, all had virgin ears and had never heard such things before in their lives.

Ooooooh! What was said? What was said? Tell!! I have GOT to hear this one!

Well, the version I heard was that the ol' head coach was being a bit of a miscreant.

SRW, the PU, trying to be a nice guy -- and since the coach was getting his hat handed to him in what would be their last game of the year just a win short of going to state -- restricted the head coach to the dugout.

A short time later, head coach comes out of the dugout. SRW reminds the ol' head coach that he's in time out and doesn't have permission to leave time out. At that point, assistant coach calls SRW a "!$#ing !#@hole," earning the assistant coach a free trip to the parking lot. At this complex the parking lot is a pretty long jaunt, especially when you are getting your hat handed to you.

Stories that SRW hollered "Go start the bus" at the assistant coach have NOT been substantiated. BUT...since he said this in front of all the girls, well, coach, go start the bus. Good part of it is that assistant coach gets to miss first game next year -- even if he goes to a different school.

Meanwhile, SRW is going to state tournament in Class 2A, which is in Wenatchee (Apple Capital of The World). Wenatchee is on the other side of the Cascades, which means it is 85 and sunny at 10 a.m. and in Wenatchee, if you say those two words in front of young girls you could damned well go to jail.

Ok, so now I get to clarify some misconceptions!

This is true. He didn't like the fact that his F1, who was hitting her spot on that outside corner, suddenly wasn't anymore. In the top of the 7th. Down 5-1. Rather than send him packing, I tried to keep him in the game.

True to some degree. The primary story is true, but the second, unsubstantiated verbal directive about starting the bus is not. I know they hire bus drivers for that.

Actually, I'm going to the 1A in Moses Lake. Not as many apples there, but the temperature is the same... and if you said those words in Moses Lake, you'd probably get shot. It'll be a good time.
