Jealous ?
 

For all you Umps who are freezing up ther in the Northern Hemisphere and no games .
Here in Christchurch New Zealand
4 games on Saturday 28 degrees celcius whats that about 83
5 games Sunday 25 degrees
1 game Monday night dropped down to 13 degrees ( hell it felt cold )

Looking forward to 1 game Wed night and a big 3 day tournament fri sat sun with expected temps in high 20's .

I certainly am when you all talk about games in the middle of our winter with temps 8 or 9 degrees celcius .

Let me translate ... But, I do look forward to the off season; problem is, here the "off season" is almost as long as the "on season"! Give me another month or so; then ask again!

Jealous? Of what? The weather? Ha!

I was at the top of Pikes Peak on a bright, sunny Thursday afternoon last week. The temp was in the 20's (F) with a steady 10-15 mph winds with gusts up to 25. Loved every second of it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with some cold weather.

Yep, the cold weather has hit here in the valley of So. CA too. Yesterday's games were played in low 70's temps with the night game in the upper-50's. It's only in the upper 60's today so tonight's game will be in the chilly mid-50's. I kind of like this "cold" weather. Just last month it was in the 90's with summer temps reaching tripple digits everyday (highs of 100+).

Rainy .. Windy .. Cold .. Miserable

45.6 degrees on the temp thingy (thats like 1 degree celsius or something, who knows)

Hell you guys it doesnt even get that cold here in Christchurch New zealand .
The coldest even in the middle of winter is minus 2 degrees then it warms up to 8 or 9 .
Generally in winter it sits around 10 or 11 degrees during the day .
All celcius by the way .Its too cold for me so occasionally I gravitate to Australia for a couple of weeks for some softball there (when my wife lets me )

Yeah, world society has been losing its soul with every passing year since the metric system was invented. Before that, systems of measurement were connected to the world of natural human experience. Now, it is just cold, abstract numbers... I mean, who the heck actually KNOWS what one ten-millionth part of the quadrant of the earth is, let alone the length of the path traveled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second?

I KNOW how far it is from the tip of my nose to my longest fingertip with my arm extended at the shoulder! Who gives a bleep if it is hard to use in calculations... that is what computers are for! :D

Heck....sounds like the "summer" weather in New Zealand is like the winter weather we have been having here in Texas. Guess that's why they play softball the year round here.

It's fall now in the Neth.'s... (5-12C). Butthursday it will be like spring: 17C! :D
But still all ice-skating lanes are open and I'm looking foreward for the Alternative Eleven City skating tour; 200km skating in one day.:cool:

yes, i'm missing the summer too, but in winter there are also fun sports to do: IndoorCup in Schiedam (nearby Rotterdam NL) in jan...:rolleyes:

This time of year in NE Ohio we ump indoors. fifty to sixty degrees, dry field and no wind nor rain. Lots of nets though

Yeah, that's what they keep telling themselves. There is no one left to debate the issue because everyone else is ROTFLOAF!!!

Although I must admit New Zealand could probabley fit in Texas .
Come to think of it we would fit in most of the 52 states.
At least we dont get hurricanes:eek:
